The Prince Albert Raiders along with Sargent Rhonda Meakin (School Liaison Officer with the Prince Albert City Police), Constable Shauna Kelly (Drug and Organized Crime Awareness Section with the RCMP), and Lyle Karasiuk (Director of Public Information and External Services) from Parkland Ambulance will be promoting alcohol awareness in local schools this season through the "Take Care Out There" program sponsored by SGI.
The "Take Care Out There" program is a positive way to relate important messages to the children in our schools. This program will focus on the dangers of alcohol and the importance of staying in school. The program is targeted at grades 5 to 8. Each presentation begins with a program introduction by the Prince Albert City police and the RCMP followed by a video relating to drinking and driving. Prince Albert Raider players along with participating presenters lead a discussion about the video and the consequences of drinking and driving in which the students are encouraged to participate. This is followed by a demonstration and brief discussion by Parkland Ambulance. Raider players will wrap up the program by signing souvenir pennants provided by SGI.
SGI will also sponsor the "Take Care Out There" poster contest !
Each of the fourteen schools in the program will also have a chance to participate in the poster contest. Each class that submits a poster will be entered to win tickets for their entire class to attend a selected Raiders home game courtesy of SGI. At the game, the winning class will also receive recognition for their efforts.
